From an Indigenous perspective, this presentation provides a contextual overview of Montreal's journey towards indigenizing its spaces since Native Montreal's "Indigenize Montreal" exhibition in 2017, part of the city's 375th anniversary and the inaugural World Design Summit. Driven by the local urban Indigenous community's will, Native Montreal has worked to foster a more inclusive community and representative urban space. We will explore our vision for an indigenized Montreal, highlight key achievements, and address challenges to transforming Montreal's identity and cultural landscape.
