The School of the Art Institute of Chicago
After a decade working in decorative surfaces, restoration, and architectural ornament fabrication Nick decided to pursue his MSHP degree at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in order to fuse his experience with skills in both archival research and the latest software and technology. In preparation for graduating this May his research is currently focused on historic ornamentation, photogrammetry, and combining the two into a workflow that results in both physical output and new modes of digital interpretation. Other recent experience includes attendence at the Victorian Society of America's Newport Summer School and an internship at McNicholas Architects in Chicago. He is the proud 2023 recipient of SAIC's Mencoff Family Fellowship in Historic Preservation as well as 2024's World Less Travelled travel grant. In his free time he enjoys watercolor painting and sailing Lake Michigan.
