Cultural Resources Technician

Sarah Gaston obtained her B.S. in Interior Design from Appalachian State University, where she was first introduced to the field of Historic Preservation. Sarah then received her M.S. in Historic Preservation at Clemson University's Design Center in Charleston, where she specialized in Architectural Conservation. Through this program, Sarah completed an independent study in Conservation Research with the Warren Lasch Conservation Center and her cohort was awarded Third Place for the Charles E. Peterson Prize for HABS documentation. Shortly after graduation, Sarah was presented the opportunity to put her thesis into practice as an Architectural Conservation Consultant for Richard Marks Restorations and was awarded the APT Conference Student Scholarship to present her graduate thesis. She currently works for Colorado State University as a Cultural Resources Technician at Hill Air Force Base in Utah and looks forward to a career in the field of Architectural Conservation.
