Mr. Gawthrop graduated in 2009 with both a Bachelors and a Masters in Architectural Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. He became familiar with sustainable building technologies through his participation in the 2007 and 2009 Solar Decathlon Competitions. He has 15 years of experience providing mechanical engineering study and design services for renovation projects, many in the historic buildings of Washington, DC. His experience includes, energy modeling, lifecycle cost analysis, study development, sustainable building methods and technologies and renewable energy analysis. Mr. Gawthrop is a Professional Engineer, LEED Accredited Professional and Building Energy Modelling Professional and works for Summer Consultants, Inc.
