Quality Restorations, Inc.

Bob is the President and Founder of Quality Restorations, Inc., which is a concrete restoration company based in Chicago, Illinois. He has restored many concrete high-rises, parking structures, plazas, and other structures over the last forty years. Quality Restorations has also restored numerous architecturally significant structures including Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple, Marina Towers, Baha'i House of Worship, Soldier Field, and Promontory Apartments building. Quality Restorations also recently consulted on concrete repair work on Louis Kahn’s Salk Institute.

Some of these projects have required matching of repair materials to the original concrete finish, texture, and color. This process has included constructing precast elements to match original elements, matching various degrees of exposed aggregate, sculpting architectural details, and creating formwork to match original historic details.

Bob and his staff have been instructors for several Association for Preservation Technology International (APT) Historic Concrete Repair Workshops focusing on various methods of surface finishing and concrete matching for architectural concrete repairs. He has also served as an instructor at the Preserve and Play conference, Historic Concrete Repair workshop, and the World of Concrete seminars on Repair of Concrete Facades and Repair of Architectural Concrete. He has authored several papers on concrete repair in ICRI Concrete Repair Bulletin and Concrete Construction magazine.

Bob is a member of the American Concrete Institute, ACI Committee 546 Repair of Concrete, ACI Illinois Chapter, ICRI Tri-State Chapter, and the International Concrete Repair Institute.
