Daniele Paulino is a PhD candidate in the Department of Architectural Engineering at Penn State University. Her research focuses on the intersection of structural optimization, building reuse and architectural design. She has interned with structural engineering firms, such as Atkinson-Noland & Associates and Silman Structural Solutions, where she gained experience with diverse aspects of projects related to the preservation of historic buildings. She received a variety of Awards, including the ASCE Student Award, the PastForward Diversity Scholarship from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Student Scholarship from APT.
