Tom grew up in Philadelphia, Detroit, St. Paul and Atlanta. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. Architecture degree in 1989 and then worked for a timber frame company in Port Townsend, Washington and learned the trade of timber-framing. He worked as an Architect in Washington and Oregon until 1997 when he changed careers to construction. In 2000 he began his career with Christman and in 2006 became operations director for the Historic Preservation Group. Tom is past president (2008) of the APT DC chapter, and past board member and treasurer of APTI. He presents regularly at conferences on preservation case studies, and cost metrics for decision making on sustainable preservation projects.
Tom currently lives in northern Virginia with my wife and dog and enjoys skiing and building cardboard furniture in his spare time.
Tom directs Christman's Historic Preservation Group providing specialty construction services for renovation of historic buildings and uniting people in great acheivements.
