CS4.5: Transforming Heritage Places: Communities and Contested or Lost Places will explore interdisciplinary approaches for the documentation and interpretation of the multi-layered narratives of historic sites and cultural landscapes. Presenters will discuss and describe their approaches for demonstrating transformative approaches to heritage that are reflective of contemporary forms of communication and addressing community needs.

Learning Objectives:

Acquire knowledge of how integrated digital documentation using LiDAR, UAV photogrammetry, and 360-photography enhance site safety, accessibility, and interpretation.
Determine how design interventions enhance connection and accessibility to new and existing portions of a site while maintaining the site’s historic character.
Identify Archaeology’s role in land use planning and ecological resource management.
Recognize the value cultural landscapes through the organization of archaeological and ecological features.
