Architectural Intern
DFS Architecture & Design Inc. , Canada
Dana Mastrangelo, M.Arch., is an Architectural Intern at DFS Inc. Architecture & Design in Montreal, working towards licensure. She earned her Master of Architecture from Carleton University in 2023 and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from McGill University. Her interest in heritage conservation began while working with the Carleton division of the SSHRC Grant for Quality in Canada’s Built Environment, where she researched the adaptive reuse of heritage and existing buildings in the Canadian context. Dana recently presented her research on adaptive reuse at the 2023 international symposium ‘As Found’ in Belgium and The National Trust Conference in Ottawa. In 2024, she presented a critical analysis of Quebec's heritage evaluation criteria at the 16th Heritage Conservation Symposium in Ottawa. As she advances her expertise in conservation, Dana continues to advocate for making the use and reuse of existing buildings a standard practice in architecture.
