ERA Architects, Canada
A Senior Associate architect at ERA architects, Douglas de Gannes revels in the space where cultural values, good design and built heritage converge. Douglas has served as project lead on a variety of award-winning conservation projects. Since 2020, Douglas has been primarily engaged, as a senior heritage planner, in the rehabilitation of Centre Block; Canada's largest and most complex heritage conservation project.
Through his work, Douglas has become deeply interested in adapting older buildings for universal access and recently consulted on a research report, funded by Accessibility Services Canada, examining the development of Accessibility Standards for federal heritage buildings.
