Lecturer in Architecture

David Fixler is an architect specializing in heritage conservation and adaptive re-use, with particular focus on modern properties, having worked on the Renovations to the United Nations Headquarters in New York, as well as landmark structures designed by Louis Kahn, Alvar Aalto and Eero Saarinen, among others. Presently a lecturer in Architecture and Urban Design and Conservation at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, he has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, and lectured in 17 countries on 5 continents around the world. His project and written work has been published internationally, and he has helped organize and lead numerous conferences on a wide-range of topics. A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, the Association for Preservation Technology (APT) and the Facade Tectonics Institue (FTI), and Peer Review Architect for the United States General Services Administration, he plays a leadership role in a variety of global conservation organizations.
